Cheers - Panegyri Greek Festival in Finneytown.  One of the best in the Tri-state, lots of fun and different than your run of the mill festival.  Thanks to the Panegyri folks for dropping off the Greek goodies at the station.

Jeers - it seems redundant, but Chris Henry.  Pay for parking, dunce.

Jeers - Bronson "JTM" Arroyo and Aaron Harang.  What happened to these guys?  I never had much faith in JTM but Harang hasn't been himself since that 19-inning debacle in San Diego.

Cheers - the Friday cod special at Sunshine Fine Foods at Plum and Eighth downtown.  Best $5 lunch I know of and they do it every week.

Yup, sports and food, that about sums it up.

-Pretty quiet week off that included a trip to Pittsburgh for a couple days to visit my parents and then taking my three kids to Cedar Point.  If you love amusement parks and roller coasters, this is the place.  We've been to all the parks in Orlando and have Kings Island season passes but Cedar Point is the place to go if you love coasters.  I hadn't been there in 26 years and it was amazing how little it has changed yet has added so many attractions.  A long drive back on the same day though.

-Could ODOT have more projects going on in Cincinnati and Dayton?  On my trip back from Sanduskey, I-75 was closed at I-70 for the never ending construction up in the Gem City.  There was no warning, just a closure of one of America's main arteries.  Finish something ODOT, please.

-Played a couple rounds of golf and it continues to amaze me how inconsistent I can be one day to the next.  Sho ... Read More »

-Ken Griffey Jr. surpassing 600 home runs has to be one of the most underhyped achievements in baseball.  I remember standing in a local watering hole watching the Griffey press conference in 2000 and how we talked about the great times ahead for the Reds.  D'oh!

-I never know what to tell my family to buy me for father's day.  I don't want any more tools, my golf bag is full (and I don't even play that much), I buy my own clothes, I don't wear cologne - how about a nice couple of cigars?  One year my kids gave me the worst looking golf shirt and I had to wear it a few times to be nice.  It was purple and green with golf balls and driving range buckets.

-Not sure how we've been spared the great midwest floods like the folks in Iowa and Indiana have been suffering through.  A friend of mine in Iowa says entire towns are shut down from the flooding and its raining again.  Hang in there Hawke ... Read More »

The new Aerosmith version of the video game Guitar Hero will be in stores June 29th.  You can pre-order your copy now from the official site. http://www.guitarherogame.com/ghaerosmith/

Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys is publicly supporting the Monkees getting into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.  More than 13,000 people have signed the online petition including Brian (I'm guessing).  Join the effort here:  http://www.petitiononline.com/Kretch07/petition.html

The three kids are all home from school for the longest break in family history - three months.  The fighting has already begun on who wanted to go to Kings Island and who wanted to do nothing and stay home.  It's going to be a long three months.

Very cool that there's more free gas with Chris & Janeen's Beat The Pump - no one stands in Janeen's way when she wants to do something.

Finally, Cincinnati mayor Mark Mallory no longer has the worst ceremonial first pitch.  Say hello to Mariah Carey throwing out a pitch at a game in Japan.

She did look better embarassing herself...sorry Mayor.  Relive the mayoral magic from Opening Day 2007 right here.

One certainty every day on the air is that we all get music oriented questions.  First, keep the calls coming, we love showing off how much trivia we know and usually the answer helps settle a bet.

If you do need some music websites to help in your quest for the hard to find song title or artist, try these.

www.allmusic.com My first stop for any artist info that I might need.

www.songfacts.com A song specific site that has user comments.

www.wgrr.com Yes, our website.  Go to the music section up top and you'll see a "Now Playing" feature that lets you check our music logs for the past seven days.

-Went to Taste of Cincinnati with my wife and one of the boys Monday.  They might think about calling it the Taste of Northern Kentucky.  Not much downtown representation among the booths.  Come on Jeff Ruby and Jean Robert, how about a booth each next year?

-The new National City Pavilion is a gem.  What a great addition that will bring many  acts to Cincinnati that might have passed in years before.  Treat yourself to at least one concert in the pavilion this summer.  The stage is the same size as the big pavilion with a great view from every seat.

-Had to give up my tickets for Jersey Boys for Friday night with a back muscle problem. Too bad for me, I heard the show is great.  Tooth aches and back spasms, two minor injuries that can ruin a day or two.

Got a comment?  Log in and fire away.

I didn't know Mother's Day weekend was going to be so busy.

I took all three kids shopping for plants and a new bird bath for mom.  Nothing like three kids fighting over who carries what in the Lowe's garden center.

Then, it was off to Little League baseball.  Who exactly thought it was a good idea for 9 and 10 year olds to steal bases when the catcher can't make the throw to second?  Thanks for the marathon games of watching kids run around the bases unabated.

Then it was home to finish the yard work and cook dinner for my wife.  Sunday was spent doing the laundry and visiting my mother-in-law in Dayton and finally back home to watch the end of the golf tournament.  (Finally, some "me" time.)

YouTube had to take down the video of Mr. Red Legs falling off the ATV at the game this past Wednesday but that doesn't mean it hasn't spread all over the internet.

Here's a link to a site that has the video. (While it lasts - its posted without the written consent of Major League Baseball)
