The Cure’s first album in 16 years, Songs of a Lost World, has claimed the top spot on five individual Billboard charts. It marks the first time in the band’s prestigious 46-year history that it reached No. 1 on the US music charts. Songs of a Lost World topped Billboard’s Top Album Sales, Vinyl Albums, Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, and Top Alternative Albums charts. Songs of a Lost World also debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart, which was the English goth rock legend’s highest chart appearance since Wish reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart back in 1992. In their home country, Songs of a Lost World went No. 1 on the UK’s albums chart. The Cure plans to tour extensively in 2025 in support of their new record, with dates supposedly being announced soon. (Consequence of Sound)
