Shannon Larkin And Tony Rombola Announce That They Have Officially Quit Godsmack

Godsmack‘s European/UK tour recently kicked off without two longtime members, drummer Shannon Larkin and guitarist Tony Rombola. It was just revealed that they actually quit the band in late 2024, with their departures recently confirmed by the band. Vocalist Sully Erna and bassist Robbie Merrill are now joined by drummer Will Hunt and bassist Sam Bam Koltun for the current tour. Larkin explained the situation in a since-deleted Facebook video, stating: “We did quit the band last year after lots of talking to Sully and Robbie, and they understood that we didn’t want to tour anymore. In the end Godsmack’s out there touring and we are out here happily living our lives. It’s all love. We’re brothers for life with Sully and Robbie.” Godsmack issued their own statement which says, “After almost 3 incredible decades, two of our most cherished members have decided to retire from the band permanently, on good terms, but for no other reason than to fulfill their desire to live a more simple and quiet life away from touring.” (Consequence of Sound)
